Genel Energy Plc (Genel) is an independent upstream oil and gas company. It is engaged in acquisition, exploration, and production of oil, and natural gas properties. It holds an exploration interest in Taq Taq and Tawke in the Kurdistan region. The company develops the Miran and Bina Bawi gas fields in Zagros Fold belt in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Genel also has gas reserves in Chia Surkh and Peshkabir licenses in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq; and Somaliland and Sidi Moussa licenses in Africa. The company's assets include pipeline infrastructure that export its oil production from the Tawke field into storage at the port of Ceyhan on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast. Genel is headquartered in London, England, the UK.
