Starpharma Holdings Ltd (Starpharma) is a biotechnology company, which researches, develops and manufactures dendrimer products for pharmaceutical, life sciences and other applications. Dendrimers are synthetic nanoscale polymers with pharmaceutical and medical uses. The company’s development programs include its DEP drug delivery, which is built around dendrimers and VivaGel portfolio. Its flagship product candidate, VivaGel, is a gel-based formulation for the treatment and prevention of bacterial vaginosis (BV) and it is also used as a vaginal microbicide to prevent the sexually transmitted infections including HIV and genital herpes. It has license arrangements with several partners including Okamoto Industries and AstraZeneca among others. The company has research facilities in Melbourne, Australia.
