Whitehaven Coal Ltd (Whitehaven) is a coal mining company. It carries out its mining activities in Northwest of New South Wales and Queensland, Australia. The company produces and metallurgical and thermal coal primarily for export markets in south and north Asia. It operates open-cut mines and one underground mine. Its open-cut mine includes Maules Creek mine, Tarrawonga mine, Werris Creek mine, Rocglen mine, and Sunnyside mine. Narrabri mine is the underground mine in which the company owns 100% interest. Whitehaven also owns development projects such as Vickery project and Winchester South project, and Narrabri Stage 3 extension and exploration projects in Queensland and New South Wales. Whitehaven is headquartered in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
