Ford, the Michigan-based automotive company, had generated a revenue of $34.5 billion, in Q1 2022, a decrease of nearly 8.5% as compared to $37.7 billion in revenues in Q4 2021. Ford disaggregates its revenues into three segments, namely: Automotive, Mobility, and Ford Credit. The Automotive segment generated $32.1 billion in revenue (nearly 93% of the total revenues) in Q1 2022.
Ford’s fresh lineup of vehicles in the first quarter of 2022 had good customer demand, but the sales of new vehicles were tempered by persistent supply chain issues that reduced the speed with which Ford could fulfill vehicle demands. Along with the sales of new vehicles, Ford also auctions used vehicles in the US through Ford Credit, a financial services arm of the Ford Motor Company. The demand for used vehicles has continued to grow over the years resulting in 32% higher auction values in Q1 2022 as compared to a year ago.
