The most recent sponsorship deal by a company in the sports equipment industry was announced in April 2021, between Victor Inks and Badminton World Federation, and is worth $6 million. As per the deal, they agreed to sponsor the Badminton World Federation for the 2022-25 season. As part of the agreement, Victor will serve as the official equipment partner of the BWF Thomas and Uber Cup Finals 2022 and 2024, and the BWF Sudirman Cup 2023 and 2025.

As per GlobalData’s Sponsorship database, the largest sponsorship deal by a sports equipment company was signed in January 2015, between Yonex, a consumer goods provider and Dan Lin, and is worth $16 million (CNY 100 million).

Clothing & Accessories

Clothing & accessories is the second most active industry sponsoring badminton with two active deals as per GlobalData’s Sponsorship database. Li Ning, the Chinese sports apparel company has become a sponsor of PV Sindhu, a badminton player in February 2019. As part of the deal, PV Sindhu has become the official brand ambassador and will appear in a number of advertising campaigns until 2022. The deal is reportedly worth $1.7 million per year. Li Ning previously sponsored Sindhu in 2014 and 2015. As per GlobalData’s Sponsorship database, it is the latest and largest sponsorship deal in the Clothing & Accessories industry.

Beverage

The beverage industry is the third most active industry sponsoring badminton with one deal as per GlobalData’s Sponsorship database. The most recent sponsorship deal by a company in the beverage industry was signed in August 2019, between ALPS and the Badminton World Federation, and is worth $0.6 million. As per the deal, ALPS will sponsor the 2019-22 season.
