Gambling was the most active industry sponsoring handball with 34 active sponsorship deals as per GlobalData’s Sponsorship database, Norsk Tipping, agreed on a deal to sponsor the Norwegian Handball Federation. The one-year deal, announced in January 2022, will see Noesk Tipping serve as the main sponsor of all Norweigan handball federation for the year 2022.
As per GlobalData’s Sponsorship database, Betano, the betting company, agreed on a deal to sponsor the Portuguese soccer club Sporting CP. The two-year deal, announced in June 2021, covers the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, although a two-year renewal clause has been inserted into the contract. As part of the agreement, Betano will serve as Sporting CP's primary shirt sponsor, resulting in the premature termination of an existing deal with NOS.

Clothing & accessories is the second most active industry sponsoring handball with 20 active deals as per GlobalData’s Sponsorship database. Hummel, the sportswear manufacturer, agreed on a deal to sponsor Spanish Liga ASOBAL. The four-year deal, announced in June 2021, covers the 2021-22 to 2024-25 period. As part of the agreement, Hummel will serve as the official supplier of Spanish Liga ASOBAL, and Hummel ball will be used during ASOBAL.
As per GlobalData’s Sponsorship database, Hummel, the Danish sporting goods manufacturer, agreed on a deal to sponsor the German handball club, THW Kiel. The six-year partnership announced in April 2019, covers the 2019-20 to 2024-25 period. As part of the agreement, Hummel will serve as THW Kiel’s kit supplier. Sportcal Sponsorship estimates the value of this deal is between $1.25 million and $1.75 million per year.

Financial Services is the third most active industry sponsoring handball with 10 deals signed as per GlobalData’s Sponsorship database. The most recent sponsorship deal by a company in the Financial Services industry was signed in September 2021, between Uniqa and EHF Champions League - Men, and is worth $0.35 million. As per the deal, Uniqa will sponsor September 2021 to June 2022 season.
