Big tech companies are focusing on racial equity and working towards lifting underrepresented groups such as Asians, Blacks, and Hispanics. Apple committed an additional $30 million to its Racial Equity and Justice Initiative in August 2021. Alphabet invested $50 million in American historically black colleges and universities in 2021 to address the diversity gap in the technology sector. Microsoft intends to invest $150 million to enhance diversity and inclusion in the organization.

Amazon is an online retailer and web service provider. In 2021, the representation of Asian American employees in Amazon offices in the US was 13.2%. Black & African American and Hispanic & Latino employees represented 28.2% and 23.6% of the workforce. The company has set goals to increase the hiring of US Black employees at Level 4 - Level 7 by at least 30% year over year from 2020 hiring.

Meta, formerly Facebook Inc, provides social networking, advertising, and business insight solutions. In 2022, the representation of Asian employees in the Meta offices in the US was 46.5%, an increase of 0.8 percentage points over 2021. Hispanic and Black employees represented 6.7% and 4.9% of the workforce.

Apple designs, manufactures, and markets smartphones, tablets, personal computers (PCs), and portable and wearable devices. In 2021, the representation of Asian employees in Apple offices in the US was 27.9% which increased by 0.9 percentage points from 2020. Black & African American and Hispanic & Latinx employees represented 9.4% and 14.8% of the workforce, respectively.

Alphabet is the holding company of Google, a global technology company. In 2021, the representation of Asian employees in Alphabet offices in the US was 43.2% which increased by 0.9 percentage points from 2020. Black & African American and Hispanic & Latino employees represented 5.3% and 6.9% of the workforce.

Microsoft develops, licenses, and supports software products, services, and devices. In 2021, the representation of Asian American employees in Microsoft offices in the US was 34.9% which remained unchanged from 2020. Black & African American and Hispanic & Latino employees represented 5.6% and 6.9% of the workforce.
