A total of 17 Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) deals (pending and completed) were announced in the Aerospace and Defence of the Asia-Pacific region, in the last twelve months resulting in a total deal value of over $226.8 million. In the LTM period, October 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $56.3 million, resulting in an average deal value of $28.1 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of June 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 2 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $13.4 million during that month.
Of the 17 deals, the deal secured between Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd and CIM Tools Private Limited, was the largest M&A deal in the Asia-Pacific Aerospace and Defence sector, which was valued at $53.5 million and was completed on October 8, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Babcock International Group Plc and Naval Ship Management Pty Ltd, while the third-largest deal was between Chengdu Haoneng Technology Co., Ltd. and Chengdu Haoyiqiang Aviation Equipment Manufacturing Co Ltd. The Babcock International Group Plc-Naval Ship Management Pty Ltd deal and the Chengdu Haoneng Technology Co., Ltd.-Chengdu Haoyiqiang Aviation Equipment Manufacturing Co Ltd deal were valued at $42.7 million and $20.6 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Uniden Holdings Corporation-Attowave Co.Ltd valued at $19.4 million, whereas the deal between Guanglian Aviation Industry Co Ltd-Chengdu Hangxin Aviation Equipment Technology Co., Ltd. valued at $17.9 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $154.1 million and accounted for nearly 67.93% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Asia-Pacific region accounted for 0.80% of the total M&A deals done globally, and accounted for 22.97% of the total deal size on a global scale.
