A total of 252 Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) deals (pending and completed) were announced in the Construction of the Europe region, in the last twelve months resulting in a total deal value of over $77,276.7 million. In the LTM period, July 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $12,974.4 million, resulting in an average deal value of $589.7 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of December 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 30 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $146.2 million during that month.
Of the 252 deals, the deal secured between Sika AG and Master Builders Solutions Deutschland GmbH, was the largest M&A deal in the Europe Construction sector, which was valued at $6,003.2 million and was completed on November 11, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Siemens Energy AG and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA, while the third-largest deal was between Castellum AB and Kungsleden AB. The Siemens Energy AG-Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA deal and the Castellum AB-Kungsleden AB deal were valued at $4,263.3 million and $4,098.7 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between APi Group Corp-Chubb Fire & Security Ltd valued at $3,100.0 million, whereas the deal between Hercules BidCo GmbH-Deutsche EuroShop AG valued at $3,058.5 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $20,523.7 million and accounted for nearly 26.56% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Europe region accounted for 22.21% of the total M&A deals done globally, and accounted for 1.73% of the total deal size on a global scale.
