A total of 79 Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) deals (pending and completed) were announced in the Construction of United Kingdom, in the last twelve months resulting in a total deal value of over $23,541.6 million. In the LTM period, July 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $9,617.7 million, resulting in an average deal value of $1,374.0 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of March 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 11 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $249.6 million during that month.
Of the 79 deals, the deal secured between APi Group Corp and Chubb Fire & Security Ltd, was the largest M&A deal in the United Kingdom Construction sector, which was valued at $3,100.0 million and was completed on July 27, 2021. The second-largest deal was between LXi REIT plc and Secure Income REIT Plc, while the third-largest deal was between Gazit Hercules 2020 Limited and Atrium European Real Estate Ltd. The LXi REIT plc-Secure Income REIT Plc deal and the Gazit Hercules 2020 Limited-Atrium European Real Estate Ltd deal were valued at $2,735.5 million and $1,681.7 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Gemini Jersey JV L.P-GCP Student Living Plc valued at $1,644.4 million, whereas the deal between CBRE Titan Acquisition Co. Limited-Turner & Townsend Ltd valued at $1,319.7 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $10,481.2 million and accounted for nearly 44.52% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
