In the LTM period, September 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $923.5 million, resulting in an average deal value of $153.9 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of May 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 7 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $45.7 million during that month.
Of the 52 deals, the deal secured between Charter Hall Long WALE REIT; Host-Plus Pty Ltd and ALE Property Group, was the largest M&A deal in the Asia-Pacific Foodservice sector, which was valued at $857.0 million and was completed on September 20, 2021. The second-largest deal was between VGI Public Co Ltd and Jaymart Public Co Ltd, while the third-largest deal was between Burger King India Ltd and PT Sari Burger Indonesia. The VGI Public Co Ltd-Jaymart Public Co Ltd deal and the Burger King India Ltd-PT Sari Burger Indonesia deal were valued at $193.2 million and $183.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Bundl Technologies Private Ltd-Dineout Services Pvt Ltd valued at $120.0 million, whereas the deal between Ucc Anz Management Pty Ltd-SUNTORY COFFEE AUSTRALIA LTD valued at $113.6 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $1,466.8 million and accounted for nearly 39.98% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Asia-Pacific region accounted for 15.94% of the total M&A deals done globally, and accounted for 14.66% of the total deal size on a global scale.
