On the other hand, the month of February 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 30 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $30.8 million during that month.
Of the 262 deals, the deal secured between Advent International Corp; Agnafit Bidco AB; Aurora Investment Pte Ltd; GIC Pte Ltd and Swedish Orphan Biovitrum AB, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Europe Pharmaceuticals sector, which was valued at $8,047.6 million and was completed on September 2, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Partners Group AG and Pharmathen S.A., while the third-largest deal was between Epidarex Capital III UK; Scottish Enterprise and Kynos Therapeutics Ltd. The Partners Group AG-Pharmathen S.A. deal and the Epidarex Capital III UK; Scottish Enterprise-Kynos Therapeutics Ltd deal were valued at $1,888.7 million and $506.6 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Blackstone Life Sciences Advisors LLC-Sanofi valued at $328.3 million, whereas the deal between PPF Group NV-SOTIO Biotech AG valued at $317.1 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $11,088.4 million and accounted for nearly 60.45% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Europe region accounted for 22.81% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and accounted for 3.52% of the total deal size on a global scale.
