With 97 Shale related patents published between 2002 and 2022, Schlumberger Ltd holds the most number of Shale patents in Azerbaijan, of which 93.8% was contributed by its subsidiary Schlumberger Technology BV.
The second largest number of Shale related patents were published by Shell plc with 47 patents. The third largest number of Shale related patents were published by Halliburton Co with 17 patents, of which 82.4% was contributed by its subsidiary Halliburton Energy Services Inc. The fourth largest number of Shale related patents were published by CARBO Ceramics Inc with 13 patents. The fifth largest number of Shale related patents were published by M-I L.L.C with 10 patents.
The top five patent holders, i.e., Schlumberger Ltd, Shell plc, Halliburton Co, CARBO Ceramics Inc, and M-I L.L.C, together held 184 Shale patents during the period.
