Canada: Five largest Debt Offering deals by value in the Oil & Gas sector (LTM June 2022)

  • A total of 74 Debt Offering deals (pending and completed) were announced in the Oil & Gas of Canada, in the last twelve months resulting in a total deal value of over $33,923.7 million. In the LTM period, October 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $6,631.9 million, resulting in an average deal value of $1,105.3 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of June 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 14 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $383.3 million during that month.

  • Of the 74 deals, the deal secured between BTG Pactual; ItaU BBA Trading S.A. and Canadian Solar Inc, was the largest Debt Offering deal in the Canada Oil & Gas sector, which was valued at $96.3 million and was completed on July 27, 2021.

  • Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $96.3 million and accounted for nearly 0.28% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
