Global: Five largest Debt Offering deals by value in the Oil & Gas sector (LTM June 2022)

  • A total of 1,424 Debt Offering deals (pending and completed) were announced in the Global Oil & Gas sector, in the last twelve months resulting in a total deal value of over $551,589.2 million. In the LTM period, November 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $69,550.0 million, resulting in an average deal value of $406.7 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of November 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 171 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $406.7 million during that month.

  • Of the 1,424 deals, the deal secured between CaixaBank SA and Doggerbank Offshore Wind Farm Project 3 Projco Ltd, was the largest Debt Offering deal in the Global Oil & Gas sector, which was valued at $3,991.5 million and was completed on December 2, 2021. The second-largest deal was between UK Export Finance and Government of Turkey, while the third-largest deal was between Banco Santander SA; Bayerische Landesbank; Commerzbank AG; Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank SA; Intesa Sanpaolo SpA; Societe Generale SA and Volkswagen AG. The fourth-largest deal was between Barclays Bank Plc; Bokf NA; Citibank NA; Comerica Bank; JPMorgan Chase Bank National Association; Mizuho Bank Ltd; MUFG Union Bank NA; PNC Bank NA; Royal Bank of Canada; Standard Chartered Bank Plc; Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp; The Bank of New York Mellon Corp; The Toronto-Dominion Bank; U.S. Bank National Association Co; Wells Fargo Bank NA-Oncor Electric Delivery Co LLC; Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co Ltd valued at $2,000.0 million, whereas the deal between BNP Paribas SA; Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce; Lloyds Bank Plc; MUFG Bank Ltd; NatWest Group Plc; Santander UK PLC; SMBC; Societe Generale SA; The Toronto-Dominion Bank; Wells Fargo & Co-Lightsource BP Renewable Energy Investments Ltd valued at $1,800.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.

  • Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $12,331.6 million and accounted for nearly 2.24% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. By region, North America accounted for 38.99% of the total Debt Offering deals done globally, and recorded a total deal value of $215,043.4 million, which accounted for 29.78% of the total deal size on a global scale.
