The second largest number of patents were held by ConocoPhillips with 30 LNG patents. The third largest number of patents were held by Shell plc with 28 LNG patents, of which 96.4% was contributed by Shell Internationale Research Maatschappij B.V.. The fourth largest number of patents were held by Air Products and Chemicals Inc with 17 LNG patents. The fifth largest number of patents were held by Engie SA with 16 LNG patents.
The top five patents holders, i.e., Exxon Mobil Corp, ConocoPhillips, Shell plc, Air Products and Chemicals Inc, and Engie SA, together held 155 LNG patents during the period.
