Of the 331 deals, the deal secured between EQT AB and Covanta Holding Corp, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the North America Power & Utilities sector, which was valued at $5,300.0 million and was completed on July 14, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Platinum Equity LLC and Solenis International LP, while the third-largest deal was between Lone Star Funds and SPX Flow Inc. The Platinum Equity LLC-Solenis International LP deal and the Lone Star Funds-SPX Flow Inc deal were valued at $5,250.0 million and $3,800.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Blackstone Infrastructure Partners, L.P.-Invenergy Renewables LLC valued at $3,000.0 million, whereas the deal between Climate Pledge Fund; Coatue Management LLC; D1 Capital Partners; Dragoneer Investment Group LLC; Fidelity Management & Research Company; Ford Motor Co; T Rowe Price Associates Inc; Third Point LLC-Rivian Automotive LLC valued at $2,500.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $19,850.0 million and accounted for nearly 43.87% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The North America region accounted for 42.79% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and accounted for 18.35% of the total deal size on a global scale.
