In the LTM period, December 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $78.3 million, resulting in an average deal value of $39.2 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of July 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 5 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $12.6 million during that month.

  • Of the 31 deals, the deal secured between Endeavor Catalyst; MSA Capital; Raed Ventures; Rocketship VC; Sanabil Investments; STV - Saudi Arabia; VentureSouq; Wafra International Investment Company and Sary Information Technology Co, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Middle East and Africa Retail & Wholesale sector driven by ECommerce, which was valued at $74.8 million and was completed on December 19, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Faith Capital Holding; FIM Partners; Impact46; Jahez International Company for Information System Technology; Middle East Venture Partners; Quencia Capital; Saudi Technology Ventures; Sunbulah Group and Matajer Central Co, while the third-largest deal was between Insight Partners; JLL Spark; Kleiner Perkins and The Avo Shopping Company Inc. The Faith Capital Holding; FIM Partners; Impact46; Jahez International Company for Information System Technology; Middle East Venture Partners; Quencia Capital; Saudi Technology Ventures; Sunbulah Group-Matajer Central Co deal and the Insight Partners; JLL Spark; Kleiner Perkins-The Avo Shopping Company Inc deal were valued at $50.0 million and $45.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between 4DX Ventures; BECO Capital; Crystal Stream Capital; Endeavour Catalyst; Flourish Ventures; International Finance Corporation (the UK); Rise Capital; Riyada Managers B.V.-MaxAB valued at $40.0 million, whereas the deal between Impact46; STV - Saudi Arabia-Floward valued at $27.5 million was the fifth-largest deal.

  • Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $237.3 million and accounted for nearly 61.65% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Middle East and Africa region accounted for 1.18% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and accounted for 5.86% of the total deal size on a global scale.
