Of the 22 deals, the deal secured between Orient Hontai Capital and Mediaproduccion SLU, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Europe Sport sector, which was valued at $698.8 million and was completed on November 27, 2021. The second-largest deal was between PCP Capital Partners LLP; RB Sports & Media; The Saudi Public Investment Fund and Newcastle United plc, while the third-largest deal was between Sixth Street Specialty Lending Inc and The Liga Nacional de Futbol Profesional. The PCP Capital Partners LLP; RB Sports & Media; The Saudi Public Investment Fund-Newcastle United plc deal and the Sixth Street Specialty Lending Inc-The Liga Nacional de Futbol Profesional deal were valued at $408.0 million and $215.6 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Orkila Capital LLC-Club Brugge NV valued at $59.3 million, whereas the deal between Alan Howard (Stockport) Limited; IPGL Limited; JRJ Group; Michael Spencer; TNF Ventures Pte Ltd-Excel Esports valued at $23.4 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $1,405.1 million and accounted for nearly 96.43% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Europe region accounted for 41.51% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and accounted for 65.85% of the total deal size on a global scale.
