On the other hand, the month of June 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 13 deals being made, with average deal value of $599.5 million during that month.
Of the 70 deals, the deal secured between ViaSat Inc and Inmarsat Group Holdings Ltd, was the largest M&A deal in the Global Technology, Media and Telecom sector driven by Internet of Things, which was valued at $7,300.0 million and was completed on November 8, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Emirates Telecommunications Group Co PJSC and Vodafone Group Plc, while the third-largest deal was between HP Inc and Plantronics Inc. The Emirates Telecommunications Group Co PJSC-Vodafone Group Plc deal and the HP Inc-Plantronics Inc deal were valued at $4,400.0 million and $3,300.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Altice UK Sarl-BT Group Plc valued at $3,111.6 million, whereas the deal between APi Group Corp-Chubb Fire & Security Ltd valued at $3,100.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $21,211.57 million and accounted for nearly 23.71% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. By region, Asia-Pacific accounted for 61.78% of the total M&A deals done globally, and recorded a total deal value of $55,427.3 million, which accounted for 38.03% of the total deal size on a global scale.
