Japan: ESG Related Job Trends in the Technology and Communications Sector (October 2023 - January 2024)

The number of active ESG related job postings in the Technology and Communications sector of Japan decreased by 17.2% MoM, and decreased by 28.66% since October 2023, reaching 799 active job postings in January 2024
A total of 301 new ESG related jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 5.61% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 467 ESG related jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 5.9% more jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new ESG related jobs posted increased by 30.87% and the number of ESG related jobs closed increased by 28.65%.
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new ESG related jobs posted observed a growth rate of 9.38%, the number of active ESG related job postings observed a negative growth rate of 10.65% and the number of ESG related jobs closed observed a growth rate of 8.76%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of ESG related jobs posted stood at 284, number of ESG related jobs closed stood at 397 and number of active ESG related jobs stood at 1,001.
