Malaysia: Job Trends in the Technology and Communications Sector (October 2023 - January 2024)

The number of active job postings in the Technology and Communications sector of Malaysia decreased by 13.74% MoM, and decreased by 13.61% since October 2023, reaching 4,622 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 1,323 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 4.09% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 2,059 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 35.37% more jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 32.71% and the number of jobs closed increased by 56.7%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 12.37%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 4.76% and the number of jobs closed observed a growth rate of 16.15%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 1,551, number of jobs closed stood at 1,570 and number of active jobs stood at 5,234.
