The number of active job postings in the Technology and Communications sector of the Middle East and Africa region decreased by 9.69% MoM, and decreased by 14.28% since October 2023, reaching 9,244 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 2,735 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing a decrease of 5.23% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 3,727 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 3.47% more jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 20.05% and the number of jobs closed increased by 18.43%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 7.19%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 5.01% and the number of jobs closed observed a growth rate of 5.8%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 3,216, number of jobs closed stood at 3,532 and number of active jobs stood at 10,304.
