Rowe Price Group Inc; ThornTree Capital Partners; Tiger Global Management LLC; VMG Partners LP and Nuvemshop; Rappi SAS, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the South and Central America Technology, Media and Telecom sector driven by ECommerce, which was valued at $500.0 million and was completed on July 8, 2021. The second-largest deal was between General Atlantic LLC; Kaszek Ventures; Moore Strategic Ventures, LLC; SoftBank Vision Fund LP; Valor Capital Group and GPBR Participacoes SA, while the third-largest deal was between Prosus NV and Movile Internet Movel SA. The General Atlantic LLC; Kaszek Ventures; Moore Strategic Ventures, LLC; SoftBank Vision Fund LP; Valor Capital Group-GPBR Participacoes SA deal and the Prosus NV-Movile Internet Movel SA deal were valued at $220.0 million and $191.8 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Corton Capital; Globo Ventures; Kevin Efrusy; SoftBank Group Corp; The Goldman Sachs Group Inc; Valor Capital Group; Wellington Management Company LLP-Olist Servicos Digitais Ltda. valued at $186.0 million, whereas the deal between Coatue Management LLC; Eight Partners LLC; Foundamental; H20 Capital; Lightrock LLP; Monashees; SoftBank Venture Capital; Tiger Global Management LLC-TUL SAS valued at $181.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.

  • Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $1,597.8 million and accounted for nearly 48.04% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The South and Central America region accounted for 3.86% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and accounted for 3.99% of the total deal size on a global scale.
