South and Central America: Job Trends in the Media Sector (October 2023 - January 2024)

  • The number of active job postings in the Media sector of the South and Central America region increased by 2.22% MoM, and increased by 12.88% since October 2023, reaching 2,209 active job postings in January 2024.

  • A total of 375 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 9.33% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 327 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 29.07% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted increased by 8.07% and the number of jobs closed increased by 6.86%

  • In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a growth rate of 2.62%, the number of active job postings observed a growth rate of 4.12% and the number of jobs closed observed a growth rate of 2.24%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 430, number of jobs closed stood at 357 and number of active jobs stood at 2,151.
