In the first quarter of 2022, the worldwide average revenue per user (ARPU) of Facebook was $9.54, a decrease of 18% from the ARPU of $11.57, in the fourth quarter of 2021. Facebook segregates its revenues and ARPU based on user geography and under four geographic segments: the US and Canada, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Rest of the World.

In Q1 2022, ARPU decreased quarter-over-quarter by 8% in the Rest of the World ($3.14), by 9% in Asia-Pacific ($4.47), by 20% in the US & Canada ($48.29), and by 22% in Europe ($15.35). In addition, historically the user growth was more rapid in geographies with relatively lower ARPU, such as Asia-Pacific and the Rest of the World.

ARPU in regions such as the US & Canada and Europe are higher primarily due to the size and maturity of those online and mobile advertising markets.

The Europe region includes Russia and Turkey.

The Rest of the World includes Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East.
