The number of active job postings in the Leisure and Arts sector of Australia decreased by 1.97% MoM, and decreased by 5.73% since October 2023, reaching 6,858 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 1,934 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 23.66% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 2,072 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 4.75% more jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 33.45% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 68.88%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 12.69%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 1.95% and the number of jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 32.24%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 2,144, number of jobs closed stood at 3,187 and number of active jobs stood at 7,134.
