Global: Five largest Equity Offering deals by value in the Transportation, Infrastructure and Logistics sector (LTM June 2022)

  • A total of 63 Equity Offering deals (pending and completed) were announced in the Global Transportation, Infrastructure and Logistics sector, in the last twelve months resulting in a total deal value of over $19,939.2 million. In the LTM period, June 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $5,485.7 million, resulting in an average deal value of $457.1 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of August 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 12 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $192.7 million during that month.

  • Of the 63 deals, the deal secured between China Merchants Port Group Co Ltd and Zhejiang Seaport Investment Operation Group Co., Ltd, was the largest Equity Offering deal in the Global Transportation, Infrastructure and Logistics sector, which was valued at $1,718.7 million and was completed on August 13, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Access Industries Inc; Baron Capital Group, Inc.; Federated Hermes Kaufmann Fund; Mubadala Capital; Putnam Investments LLC; Stellantis NV; United Airlines Holdings Inc and Archer Aviation Inc, while the third-largest deal was between Guangzhou Pearl River Industrial Development Co Ltd and Jiangsu Transportation Research Institute Co Ltd. The Access Industries Inc; Baron Capital Group, Inc.; Federated Hermes Kaufmann Fund; Mubadala Capital; Putnam Investments LLC; Stellantis NV; United Airlines Holdings Inc-Archer Aviation Inc deal and the Guangzhou Pearl River Industrial Development Co Ltd-Jiangsu Transportation Research Institute Co Ltd deal were valued at $600.0 million and $364.5 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Alpha Dhabi Holding-Abu Dhabi Chemical Derivatives Co RSC Ltd valued at $272.2 million, whereas the deal between Dnata-Amsterdam Airport Schiphol valued at $224.9 million was the fifth-largest deal.

  • Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $3,180.4 million and accounted for nearly 15.95% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. By region, Asia-Pacific accounted for 66.28% of the total Equity Offering deals done globally, and recorded a total deal value of $13,046.6 million, which accounted for 59.02% of the total deal size on a global scale.
