In the LTM period, April 2022 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $41,036.1 million, resulting in an average deal value of $1,415.0 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of January 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 34 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $128.5 million during that month.
Of the 1,155 deals, the deal secured between Schemaquarantatre SPA and Atlantia SpA, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Global Transportation, Infrastructure and Logistics sector, which was valued at $39,545.7 million and was completed on April 14, 2022. The second-largest deal was between AustralianSuper Pty Ltd; Conyers Trust Company (Cayman) Limited; Global Infrastructure Management; IFM Investors Pty Ltd; QSuper Limited and Sydney Airport Holdings Limited, while the third-largest deal was between HG Vora Capital Management, LLC and Ryder System Inc. The AustralianSuper Pty Ltd; Conyers Trust Company (Cayman) Limited; Global Infrastructure Management; IFM Investors Pty Ltd; QSuper Limited-Sydney Airport Holdings Limited deal and the HG Vora Capital Management, LLC-Ryder System Inc deal were valued at $23,652.5 million and $10,514.4 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec; Transurban Group-Sydney Motorway Corp Pty Ltd valued at $8,063.3 million, whereas the deal between Canada Pension Plan Investment Board-Ports America Inc valued at $6,000.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $87,775.9 million and accounted for nearly 68.33% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. By region, Europe accounted for 46.01% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and recorded a total deal value of $59,053.3 million, which accounted for 22.98% of the total deal size on a global scale.
