Japan: Job Trends in the Leisure and Arts Sector (October 2023 - January 2024)

The number of active job postings in the Leisure and Arts sector of Japan decreased by 2.54% MoM, and decreased by 10.97% since October 2023, reaching 7,169 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 526 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 17.41% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 713 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 42.03% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 86.48% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 80.18%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 48.67%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 3.8% and the number of jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 41.69%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 1,416, number of jobs closed stood at 1,563 and number of active jobs stood at 7,678.
