In the LTM period, October 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $1,542.0 million, resulting in an average deal value of $385.5 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of December 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 7 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $39.3 million during that month.
Of the 44 deals, the deal secured between Liaoning Port Co Ltd and Yingkou Port Bulk Cargo Terminal Co., Ltd, was the largest M&A deal in the China Transportation, Infrastructure and Logistics sector, which was valued at $1,142.1 million and was completed on October 28, 2021. The second-largest deal was between JD Property Group Corporation and China Logistics Property Holdings Co Ltd, while the third-largest deal was between COSCO Shipping Lines Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Tianhongli Asset Management Ltd. The JD Property Group Corporation-China Logistics Property Holdings Co Ltd deal and the COSCO Shipping Lines Co., Ltd.-Shanghai Tianhongli Asset Management Ltd deal were valued at $512.8 million and $347.9 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between China Merchants Energy Shipping Co Ltd-Sinotrans Container Lines Co., Ltd valued at $312.2 million, whereas the deal between China Merchants Port Holdings Co Ltd-Shanghai International Port Group (HK) Co., Limited valued at $294.7 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $2,609.5 million and accounted for nearly 53.13% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
