In the LTM period, June 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $9,118.9 million, resulting in an average deal value of $414.5 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of March 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 24 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $61.2 million during that month.
Of the 113 deals, the deal secured between First Abu Dhabi Bank; HSBC Bank Plc and Etihad Airways PJSC, was the largest Debt Offering deal in the Global Travel and Tourism sector, which was valued at $1,200.0 million and was completed on October 13, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Barclays Bank Plc; Deutsche Bank AG; J.P. Morgan Securities LLC; Standard Chartered Plc and Mumbai International Airport Pvt Ltd, while the third-largest deal was between Sun Capital Partners Inc and VIP Global. The Barclays Bank Plc; Deutsche Bank AG; J.P. Morgan Securities LLC; Standard Chartered Plc-Mumbai International Airport Pvt Ltd deal and the Sun Capital Partners Inc-VIP Global deal were valued at $539.2 million and $380.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Maybank Singapore Limited-Worldwide Hotels Group valued at $306.3 million, whereas the deal between Bank of America Corp; National Australia Bank Ltd; Societe Generale SA; Westpac New Zealand Ltd-KiwiRail Holdings Ltd valued at $245.8 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $2,671.3 million and accounted for nearly 8.48% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. By region, North America accounted for 38.34% of the total Debt Offering deals done globally, and recorded a total deal value of $12,072.4 million, which accounted for 31.86% of the total deal size on a global scale.
