On the other hand, the month of January 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 22 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $763.5 million during that month.
Of the 203 deals, the deal secured between DraftKings Inc and Entain PLC, was the largest M&A deal in the Global Travel and Tourism sector, which was valued at $21,551.4 million and was completed on September 21, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Take-Two Interactive Software Inc and Zynga Inc, while the third-largest deal was between Sundown Acquisition Corp. and Spirit Airlines Inc. The Take-Two Interactive Software Inc-Zynga Inc deal and the Sundown Acquisition Corp.-Spirit Airlines Inc deal were valued at $12,700.0 million and $7,121.5 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Rob Walton-Denver Broncos valued at $4,650.0 million, whereas the deal between Aristocrat Leisure Ltd-Playtech Plc valued at $3,711.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $49,733.9 million and accounted for nearly 48.33% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. By region, North America accounted for 47.14% of the total M&A deals done globally, and recorded a total deal value of $49,755.6 million, which accounted for 28.71% of the total deal size on a global scale.
