The number of active job postings in the Travel & Tourism (Passenger Transportation) sector of Malaysia decreased by 9.8% MoM, and decreased by 24.15% since October 2023, reaching 267 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 49 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing a decrease of 18.33% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 78 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 37.6% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 44.32% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 20.41%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 17.73%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 8.8% and the number of jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 7.33%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 68, number of jobs closed stood at 92 and number of active jobs stood at 319.
