Posted in Business FundamentalsAfter witnessing a decline in October 2021, deal activity in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region rebounded in November. A total of 1,326 deals, (comprising mergers & acquisitions [M&A], private equity, and venture financing deals) were announced in the APAC region during November 2021, which is an increase of 3.8% over 1,278 deals announced during the previous month, according to GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.
An analysis of GlobalData’s Financial Deals Database revealed that the deal volume in APAC region during the month also remained higher than the monthly average level of Q1, Q2 & Q3 of 2021.
Aurojyoti Bose, Lead Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “The improvement in deal activity in November was mainly driven by a rebound in key APAC markets, namely China and India, which collectively accounts for more than 50% of the total deal volume for the region. China and India witnessed deal volume growing by 4.1% and 2.1% during November 2021 compared to the previous month, respectively.
Other APAC markets such as South Korea and Singapore also witnessed growth in deal volume by 9.7% and 25.9% in November respectively compared to the previous month. However, markets such as Japan, Australia, Malaysia and New Zealand witnessed decline in deal volume.
All the deal types (under coverage) also witnessed growth in deal activity. The number of M&A, private equity and venture financing deals increased by 1.4%, 10.2% and 5% in November respectively compared to the previous month.
