Deutsche Telekom and Telefonica are the leading companies in the automated home theme, according to the latest Thematic Scorecard for the telecom operators sector from GlobalData.

The automated home refers to the automation and control of household appliances – whether it be a fridge, TV, front door lock, kettle or light bulb – via connection to the internet.

Both companies gained the highest Thematic score (5 out of 5) for the automated home theme in GlobalData’s Thematic Scorecard for the telecom operators sector. A Thematic score of 5 out of 5 indicates that the companies’ competitive position in this theme will significantly improve their future performance.

On their tail, with scores of 4 out of 5 in the automated home theme, are AT&T, SK Telecom, Korea Telecom, Saudi Telecom, Orange, China Mobile, Chunghwa Telecom, Verizon, Cox, and Comcast.
