English waters will have designated Highly Protected Marine Areas

The Environment Secretary announced today (February 28) that the Government will designate the first three Highly Protected Marine Areas in English waters, providing the highest level of protection for marine habitats and wildlife.
Allonby Bay (Irish Sea), Dolphin Head (Eastern Channel), and North East of Farnes Deep are the three sites being considered for designation before July 6, 2023. (Northern North Sea).
