ESG: Regulations Summary

On February 27, 2023, the National Assembly's plenary session saw the passage of five environmental laws, according to the Ministry of Environment (Minister Han Wha-jin). These laws include the Framework Act on Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth for Coping with Climate Crisis, the Construction Waste Recycling Promotion Act, the Special Act on Improving Air Quality in Air Control Zones, the Malodor Prevention Act, and the Act on the Promotion of Saving and Recycling of Resources (Resource Recycling Act) (Framework Act on Carbon Neutrality). After cabinet resolutions, the measures will go into effect immediately or up to two years following their publication.
