Head of Content, Insurance
Patricia, having worked in the insurance sector for many years, recognizes the impending disruption that technology and digitization is bringing to the sector. She also understands the challenges insurers face in learning from other industries and embracing change.
- Which area of financial services are you most interested in and why?
What interests me most is how established providers have to change to respond to new technological developments that are redefining how consumers engage with service providers and the types of solutions they want to buy. The consolidation we have seen in the market over the last 20 years means that these large corporates can be slow to respond to change, and as fintech has shown, change may be driven by smaller, more agile companies or startups. I find it fascinating to see how this unfolds.
- What do you think will be the hottest trend in fintech in 2017?
The hottest trend will be solutions that enhance the customer experience and make their lives easier. This covers a wide area, but the financial services industry needs to get better at putting the customer at the heart of its proposition.
- Which demo are you looking forward to in particular and why?
I’m looking forward to seeing unblu, as I think the ability to co-browse and support the customer journey is a really powerful one that can be applied to multiple industries including insurance. Anything that improves the customer experience and reduces abandonment has a big future.
