Auto: Component Forecasts

GlobalData’s database contains forecasts for 117 original equipment components and systems as applied to light vehicles manufactured globally in 14 defined geographies. Our component forecasts cover the myriad of components that go into making the average light vehicle and also includes a systems view of the autonomous vehicle market. Clients can use the data to plot growth opportunities and components at risk due to low-growth prospects.

Our methodology involves assessing light vehicle production for 14 geographies, with forecasts by fuel type - diesel, petrol, hybrid, EV, etc. - using source data from supplier and OEM interviews, trade associations and other industry contacts. This data is then further applied to different component and component sectors and then using proprietary information obtained from industry contacts and trade bodies is forecast year by year for six years, with spot forecasts 10 and 15 years out.
