AMC Health announces new telehealth IVR solutions for COVID-19 patients amid growing demand for virtual healthcare

Following the announcement that AMC Health is launching new telehealth interactive voice response (IVR) monitoring solutions with eviCore healthcare for COVID-19 patients;

Azadeh Laffafian, Medical Device Analyst at GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company, offers her view:

“The demand for telehealth has increased rapidly during the COVID-19 pandemic as hospitals and clinics attempt to reduce viral exposure and save precious healthcare resources for the severely ill COVID-19 patients. Telehealth services are especially important for patients with chronic conditions who need medical monitoring and access to nurses and physicians.

“These patients are also more susceptible to severe illness and complications from COVID-19, and have been instructed by healthcare professionals to be especially vigilant with social distancing protocols. This sudden growth in telehealth may have long-term effects, where patients and physicians become more comfortable, willing and interested in using telehealth post COVID-19 pandemic. GlobalData expects the global telehealth market to grow at a CAGR of 21.3% over the next five years.

“AMC Health’s new telehealth COVID-19 IVR solutions will help assess, triage and track patients who are considered high risk. It includes questionnaires about symptoms and educational content. It aims to reduce the burden on hospitals, and to protect and care for high risk patients, by allowing them to be assessed and monitored from home.”
