Facebook leads Twitter mentions in December 2019

Ranging from Facebook to Snap, leading data and analytics company GlobalData lists the top five companies discussed in disruptive technology in December 2019, based on data from the company’s Influencer Platform.

1. Facebook – 1,235 mentions

Facebook is a social networking, advertising and business insight platform. The company’s major products include Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp. Marsha Collier, an author and technology educator, shared an article on how the company learns what you buy at a physical store or online.

On 12 December 2019, @MarshaCollier tweeted: “This is how Facebook learns what you buy at physical stores in order to show you relevant ads — and how to opt out It begins when you buy something, either online or in a store #DigitalMarketing http://bit.ly/36wuSi7,” which collected 51 likes and 47 retweets.

Shira Rubinoff, a cybersecurity and blockchain advisor, shared an article that highlights the disclosure of personal information of more than 267 million Facebook users in an unsecured database.

2. Amazon – 366 mentions

Amazon is a global online retailer and web service provider. The company provides an extensive range of products including apparels, beauty and health products, among others. Shira Rubinoff, a cybersecurity and blockchain advisor and author, shared an article indicating the release of her book Cyber Minds on Amazon.

Evan Kirstel, a B2B thought leader and top technology influencer shared an article stating that Amazon, Walmart and Target are going head-to-head in the convenience war.

3. Intel – 173 mentions

Intel Corporation is a technology company that designs and manufactures integrated digital technology products and components for the computing and communications industries. Evan Kirstel, a top B2B influencer, shared an article on an artificial intelligence (AI) powered wheelchair created by Intel, which moves according to facial expressions.

On 28 December 2019, @evankirstel tweeted: “This #AI-powered wheel chair reads your facial expressions to move Via: @intel#accessibility #Disabilities #engineering #innovation #FacialRecognition,” which gained 38 likes and 33 retweets.

Intel acquired Israel-based AI firm, Habana Labs, for approximately $2bn. The acquisition allows Intel to expand its AI portfolio to strengthen its data-center business, according to an article shared by Shelly Kramer, a principal analyst at Futurum Research.

4. Huawei Investment & Holding – 143 mentions

Huawei provides information and communications technology (ICT) solution and services to telecommunication carriers, consumers, and enterprises. The company’s offerings include switches, routers, WLAN, and servers. Fintech and blockchain evangelist Dinis Guarda, shared five reasons to trust 5G according to Huawei’s CTO Paul Scanlan.

The Pentagon asked US-based companies to develop open-source 5G solutions in order to create an alternative for Huawei, according to an article shared by Evan Kirstel, a top B2B influencer.

 5. Snap – 139 mentions

Snap Inc. (formerly Snapchat) is a social media company, which develops and provides applications and products for communication. The company’s offerings include cameras, Friends Page, Discover, Snap map, memories and spectacles. Live videos on social media platforms such as Snapchat, Twitter, YouTube and Facebook are a game changer for marketers, according to an article shared by Jeff Bullas, a top social media influencer.

On 23 December 2019,  @jeffbullas tweeted: “Why Live Videos On Social Media Are A Game-Changer for Marketers https://bit.ly/2N2lqJR #livevideo #SMM #socialmedia,” which earnt 7 likes.

Neal Schaffer, a social media speaker highlights the Snapchat Cameos feature that enables users to edit their faces into videos.
