Pinheiro Neto Advogados and Bronstein, Zilberberg, Chueiri & Potenza Advogados were top M&A legal advisers by value and volume in South & Central America for Q1-Q3 2021, finds GlobalData

Pinheiro Neto Advogados and Bronstein, Zilberberg, Chueiri & Potenza Advogados were the top mergers and acquisition (M&A) legal advisers in South and Central America for Q1-Q3 2021 by value and volume, respectively. Pinheiro Neto Advogados advised on 14 deals worth US$11.5bn, which was the highest value among all the advisers. Meanwhile, Bronstein, Zilberberg, Chueiri & Potenza Advogados led in volume terms having advised on 25 deals worth US$202m. A total of 782 M&A deals were announced in the region during Q1-Q3 2021, according to GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.

According to GlobalData’s report, ‘Global and South & Central America M&A Report Legal Adviser League Tables Q1-Q3 2021’, deal value for the region increased by 106.8% from US$44bn during Q1-Q3 2020 to US$ 91bn during Q1-Q3 2021.

Aurojyoti Bose, Lead Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “Bronstein, Zilberberg, Chueiri & Potenza Advogados was the clear winner in terms of volume as it was the only firm to advise on more than 25 deals, outpacing its peers by a significant margin. However, despite leading in volume terms, Bronstein, Zilberberg, Chueiri & Potenza Advogados failed to feature in GlobalData’s ranking of the top 10 advisers by value due to its involvement in low value transactions.

“Despite Pinheiro Neto Advogados advising on just 14 deals, the firm beat its peers to the top spot in terms of value due to its involvement in high value transactions. While Pinheiro Neto Advogados advised on two billion-dollar deals (valued more than or equal to US$1bn), Bronstein, Zilberberg, Chueiri & Potenza Advogados didn’t even advise on one deal valued more than US$100m.”
