According to the National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP) released in July 2023, Italy’s government is aiming to achieve an ambitious goal of having around 131GW of total renewable capacity by 2030, compared to 58GW in 2021, with approximately 79GW coming from solar and 28GW from wind energy sources.
