The Danish commercial beverages market remained almost flat in quarter 4 and for the year overall. Low prices in domestic supermarkets and assumed falling Border shop sales supported the soft drinks market in Q4-15. Fierce price competition enabled consumers to afford more branded soft drinks products, with the notable exception of squash/syrups, where branded products cannot match PL on price. Whilst the festive period and price discounts encouraged increased consumption of lower volume alcoholic drinks categories, overall beer volumes continued to drop.
