Germany is the largest market for manufactured tobacco products in Western Europe. However, from all categories, Smokeless Tobacco remains on the fringe of the market, currently accounting for just 0.1% of volume. Annual smokeless volume totalled approximately 137 tonnes in 2014. There is a small but long established smokeless tobacco niche in Germany, largely comprising powdered nasal snuff. Annual consumption of snuff currently amounts to 137 tons a year, with more than 95% of this comprising dry nasal snuff.
