PT Tanjung Jati Power Company Ltd (TJPC), an 80% subsidiary of YTL Power International Berhad (YTL Power), and BP are jointly planning to undertake the construction of a power plant in Cirebon, West Java, Indonesia.The project involves the construction of the power plant with a capacity of 2x660MW on 230ha of land. It will include the construction of substations, powerhouses and other related facilities, the installation of transformers, generators, and boilers, and the laying of transmission lines.BP and Samsung C&T of Korea signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in October 2010, and a memorandum of agreement (MoA) in February 2011, to develop and part finance.In August 2015, YTL Power acquired 80% share of PT Tanjung Jati Power Company (TJPC), for the development.In December 2015, YTL Power signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with PT PLN (Persero), Indonesia’s state-owned power company, to supply power from the plant. The PPA will be for a term of 30 years expiring 2051.On December 21, 2016, YTL Power appointed Harbin Electric International Engineering Co., Ltd., (HEC) as the general contractor for the project and signed an agreement.Pre-permit activities are underway. Simultaneously, YTL and BP are in the process of achieving financial closure for the project.
