Zinc Mining Market Report Overview

The zinc production increased for the third year in a row to 12.26 million tonnes (mt) in 2023 with China, Peru, Australia, India, and the US being the key contributors. Global zinc production was impacted by operational disruptions as well as low zinc prices in 2023. However, the zinc production output is expected to grow by 2.0% in 2024, but will relatively remain relatively flat in 2025, with a CAGR of less than 1% during the forecast period. Expected lower production from China and the US Growth might result in this steady growth. Globally, more than half of the zinc output was used for galvanization in 2023, which is used in automobiles, industrial, construction, and infrastructure.
