Microsoft Corp, Electrovaya Inc, Victrex Plc, Qualcomm Inc, NXP Semiconductors NV, BYD Co Ltd, Nidec Corp, Gentex Corporation, Honeywell International Inc, and TE Connectivity Ltd are the top 10 automotive suppliers in 2021 by EV/Sales. The top 10 automotive suppliers had an average EV/Sales of 7, where Microsoft Corp was the highest (16) and the lowest (4) were Honeywell International Inc and TE Connectivity Ltd. In aggregate, they generated revenue of $275,232 million with average revenue growth of 19% in FY2021. 9 out of the top 10 posted revenue growth with the highest increases being registered by Qualcomm Inc (54.5%), while Electrovaya Inc, had a revenue decline in 2021 by 14.3% respectively. In terms of geographical splits, 4 out of 10 of the world’s top automotive suppliers (Microsoft Corp, Qualcomm Inc, Gentex Corporation, and Honeywell International Inc) are based in the United States of America, while the remaining are based in Canada, the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Japan, China, and Switzerland. They employed a total of 851,695 people in 2021. The number of total active jobs in the top 10 companies increased by 108.8%, with Microsoft Corp (13,221) having the highest number of active jobs in 2021 and was also leading the charts in 2020 with 6,684 active jobs. The United States of America-based Microsoft Corp is the largest automotive supplier in the world (by EV/Sales). The company reported revenues of $1,43,015 million for the fiscal year ended June 2021 (FY2021), an increase of 17.53% over FY2020 was driven by a 27% increase in server products and cloud services revenue attributed to a 50% increase in Azure revenue. The increase in revenue was also due to an 8% growth in the Enterprise Services revenue. The company offers a comprehensive range of operating systems, cross-device productivity applications, server applications, software development tools, business solution applications, desktop and server management tools, video games, and training and certification services. In 2021, the company has data centers, sales offices, manufacturing facilities, and stores across the Americas, Europe, Asia, Australia, the Middle East and Africa, and employs 181,000 people.
