The Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) is planning to expand its medical facility in Chandigarh, India.The project involves the construction of a 193-bedded trauma and emergency block with a basement, first and a second floor over a 11,148m2 area.It includes the construction of a waiting area, a medicine store, medical rooms, an operation theater and related facilities.In December 2016, the Chandigarh Administration approved the proposed plans.As of July 2018, project received necessary planning approvals.Pre-design activities are underway. The project is expected to be completed by August 2019.

Scope

The project involves the expansion of the emergency block to include a basement, first floor and second floor over a 11,148m2 area in the Chandigarh’s Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32.The US$68 million project includes the following:1. Construction of a 193-bed facility2. Construction of a waiting area3. Construction of a medicine store4. Construction of medical rooms5. Construction of an operation theater6. Construction of related facilities
